European Printing Summit – A First Conference Experience
The European Printing Summit brings together experts, companies, researchers and professionals from across the printing, publishing, packaging and label industries to discuss current developments and future opportunities. The conference provides a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, discovering new technologies and gaining insights into the changing landscape of the industry. In addition to topics related to printing and publishing, the programme also featured innovative developments in packaging and label production, demonstrating the broad range of opportunities within the print and media sector.
For one Print Media and Packaging Technology student from Hochschule der Medien, this year’s European Printing Summit was a particularly special experience: it was her first opportunity to participate in the conference as a speaker. She was invited to present her work on hyper-personalisation in book printing, a topic that connects her academic studies with her practical experience in the printing and publishing industry.
The experience began on the evening before the conference with an exclusive tour of BVB Stadion Dortmund. The stadium tour offered participants the opportunity to explore one of Dortmund’s most iconic landmarks before continuing the evening with a networking dinner. The dinner provided an informal setting to meet fellow participants, speakers and professionals from different areas of the industry and exchange ideas.
The following day was filled with presentations, discussions and networking. The broad range of topics - from interviews with experts and roud tables to live demos and even a podcast - highlighted the diversity and innovative potential of the industry.
As a student, being able to participate in such an event and contribute as a speaker was a particularly valuable experience. Presenting on hyper-personalisation in book printing offered the opportunity to share her perspective with experienced industry professionals while gaining new insights into current developments and future trends.
The European Printing Summit provided not only a platform to present a personal area of interest, but also an opportunity to connect academic knowledge with the professional world, make valuable contacts and gain inspiration for future career paths within the international print and packaging industry.
