You will then be asked to create your account using your email address and a password. 

Then, simply complete your personal details, upload your university entrance certificate, and answer the questions.

• If you have completed secondary education, upload your final school-leaving certificate.
• If you are still at school, upload your most recent school report or transcript and indicate your expected date of graduation.
• If you hold an international qualification, upload your recognition document (if already available) in the designated section of the application portal.

Please upload only the documents requested at this stage. There is no need to submit a CV, motivation letter, reference, or any additional certificates unless we specifically ask for them later in the admissions process.

Once your profile is complete, proceed to start your application by selecting “My Applications” at the left-hand menu. You will be asked to enter an application token.

Application token: The admission token will be issued at the start of the next admission cycle in January 2027.

After your application has been submitted, our Admissions Team will contact you regarding the next steps. This will include a check of your certificates for recognition by Studienkolleg Konstanz. Don’t worry, you will be advised accordingly by our team.

Selected applicants will be invited to the second stage of the admissions process, which consists of the Oxford Online Placement Test and an online admissions interview.

As English is the language of instruction throughout the programme, all applicants are asked to complete the university's English language assessment. We therefore do not require external English language qualifications such as IELTS or TOEFL for admission.

If you are invited to this stage, you will receive full instructions by email. Since both the English language test and the interview are conducted online, please ensure that you have access to a computer, headphones or a headset, and a reliable internet connection.

After successful completion of the English test, the admissions interview gives you the opportunity to introduce yourself, discuss your academic background and interests, and explain your motivation for studying Print Media and Packaging Technologies. You will also learn more about the programme and have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

After you have completed your interview, you may be invited to upload your entire set of documents, which are required for the admission process.

You are almost there! To complete your application for admission to the Bachelor of Engineering in Print Media and Packaging Technologies, please upload the following documents here. 

• A copy of your passport.
• Your CV.
• Your certificate of recognition (if applicable).
• A reference letter from a teacher, lecturer, or employer.
• Any additional supporting documents relevant to your application.

Once all required documents have been uploaded, simply submit your application. Our Admissions Team will then process everything, and you will receive admission if all documents are complete.

All EU/EEA applicants are required to participate in the DoSV admissions procedure and must also register with hochschulstart.de and give the programme the appropriate priority within the system. Full instructions will be provided after you have successfully completed the entrance assessment.

Applicants holding an international school-leaving qualification should arrange recognition through the appropriate authority:

• German Abitur obtained abroad: Recognition is carried out by the Regional Council (Regierungspräsidium) in Stuttgart if you live abroad, or by the relevant authority in your federal state if you reside in Germany.
• Other international qualifications: Recognition for admission to Hochschule der Medien is carried out by Studienkolleg Konstanz.
• International Baccalaureate (IB): Recognition is required through the Regional Council in Stuttgart.

As recognition can take several weeks, we strongly recommend submitting your application as early as possible. The recognition certificate must be available before the application deadline.

International applicants with school-leaving qualifications obtained outside Germany must normally obtain a Certificate of Recognition from Studienkolleg Konstanz. During this process, your qualification is assessed to determine whether it provides direct entry to a University of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg, and your grades are converted into the German grading system.

Please begin the recognition process well in advance, as processing times can be lengthy. The Certificate of Recognition must be submitted by the application deadline.

International applicants who hold a German Abitur or another recognised German university entrance qualification do not require an additional recognition of their qualifications.

All applicants must nevertheless complete the programme-specific admissions process, including the English language assessment and admissions interview.

Applicants from China, India, Vietnam and Mongolia must submit a valid APS Certificate (Akademische Prüfstelle) as part of their application.

Applicants from countries requiring a visa to study in Germany should begin the visa process as early as possible, as processing times may take several months.

To obtain a student visa, you will normally require:

• an offer of admission from Hochschule der Medien;
• receipt of payment of tuition fees
• proof of sufficient financial resources (usually a blocked account or an accepted equivalent)
• valid health insurance.

In many countries you may arrange your visa appointment before receiving your offer of admission; however, the admission letter must be presented during the visa appointment.

Applicants with recognised advanced vocational qualifications, such as a master craftsman “Meister” certificate or an equivalent professional qualification, may be eligible for admission to the programme.

Applicants who have completed at least two years of vocational training and have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience may also qualify. In these cases, an eligibility assessment and an admissions guidance interview at Hochschule der Medien are required.
